Our aim is to give you as much information as we can about the Sol Isla apartments we have advertised on our site, so that you can book your holiday with total confidence knowing that there will be no surprises when you get there. We've compiled some information about Menorca and Arenal d’en Castell to give those of you who haven't had the pleasure to visiting the island or the resort before some background information.

We've had many happy holidays on Menorca and we have stayed at various locations around the island, some self catering in villas/apartments and some on a package basis in hotels. In 2005 after many months of searching via the internet and local agents we took the plunge and bought an apartment in the Sol Isla complex in Arenal d’en Castell.

We put a lot of thought into buying on the Sol Isla complex with renting to families foremost in our minds. This should take away some of the worries about booking direct with owners for those of you who have not done it before.

Our site includes as many pictures as we can to give you as much information about the Sol Isla complex as possible to make your decision to book easier. Almost all the images we have taken ourselves (apart from the aerial photos!) so there are no trick shots with the sea being made bluer than it really is etc. What you see is what you get.

After we had purchased our apartment we remained in touch with our estate agent as they own and manage a lot of properties in the area and in 2006 we agreed to be the booking agents for them in the UK. The agency is called Mur Gisbert and is based in Mahon. Their management company in Arenal d’en Castell is called Aremaser (from Arenal management services) this is the company that represents all the Sol Isla apartments advertised on this site.

I hope that this has given you some confidence to book through us and a bit of background to our start into the Menorcan holiday business.

A lot of things influenced our decision to buy at this location on this island, here are a few of them:

The flight time from Gatwick is under 2 hours.
The island does not have the high density of hotels that you find in the Costas of mainland Spain or indeed Majorca.
Menorca tends to attract a lot of families and very few groups of same sex young adults, so the atmosphere is calmer and more peaceful.
Arenal d'en Castell has a fantastic beach, very safe for children.
The resort offers a good mix of restaurants and bars to cater for every budget.
Arenal d'en Castell has enough shops to support a family on holiday without the need to hire a car.
The transfer time from the airport is fairly short, about 20mins by car/taxi.
Very low crime rate. Menorca is a very safe place.
The Sol Isla complex is conveniently situated within the resort close to the beach (2 mins walk) and close to shops and bars without them being intrusive.
Local agent (Fiona, English speaking) on-site for any queries with a full time maintenance man (Carlos) who carries out any repairs that may be required.
